Mejor Planta de la Exposición - Best Plant of the Show

Alfredo Sakata y su esposa Yumi, son socios del Club Peruano de Orquídeas desde hace varios años. Alfredo compró esta planta en Hawai hace 18 años cuando sólo tenía dos varas y tres flores. El haber cultivado esta planta por tanto tiempo y haberla llevado a tal grado de cultivo sorprendió sobremanera a los jueces del AOS y en particular a su Presidente quien comentó que a pesar de haber recorrido muchísimos países donde se cultiva Paphiopedilum `Susan Booth´ nunca habían visto un ejemplar de tan alta calidad. Es por este motivo recibió el Certificado a la Excelencia en Cultivo (CCE/AOS) que otorga el American Orchid Society (AOS).

ENGLISH: Alfredo Sakata and his wife Yumi, have been members of the Peruvian Orchid Club for decades. Alfredo bought this plant in Hawaii 18 years ago when it had only two spikes and three flowers. By cultivating this plant for so long and growing it to this level of culture impressed the AOS judges, in particular their President who commented that in spite of having traveled all over the world he had never seen such an impressive clone of Paphiopedilum `Susan Booth´. For that reason Alfredo Sakata was awarded the CCE a Certificate of Cultural Excellence (CCE/AOS) and Best Plant of the Show Award.
